Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough remains over inland Pilbara and the Kimberley. A monsoon trough
extends through the Timor Sea and a weak tropical low sits inland of the west
coast of the Northern Territory. The low is likely to deepen and continue
moving further inland, to the south or southeast.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure ridge will persist south of the State for the remainder of the
week. A trough from the Gascoyne to the Eucla is moving east. A slow moving
trough near the west coast will linger into early next week as it strengthens,
bringing very hot temperatures to the west coast this weekend.
Forecast for the rest of Friday 12 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, Pilbara, inland
Gascoyne, most parts of the South West Land Division, and Goldfields. Heavy
falls possible over northern Kimberley. Windy over central and southwestern
parts. Very hot over the southern Kimberley, Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, inland
Central West, Lower West, eastern Goldfields, Interior and inland Eucla.
Forecast for Saturday 13 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley and far northeastern
Interior, possibly heavy at times over northern Kimberley. Chance of a shower
or thunderstorm over the eastern Gascoyne, central and eastern Pilbara, most
parts of the South West Land Division, Goldfields, Eucla and Interior. Windy at
times over southern parts. Very hot over the southwest Kimberley, Pilbara,
inland Gascoyne, western parts of the South West Land Division, northern
Goldfields, Interior and inland Eucla.

Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, possibly heavy at times
over the northern Kimberley. Chance of a shower or thunderstorm over the
eastern Gascoyne, central and eastern Pilbara, most parts of the South West
Land Division, Goldfields, Eucla and Interior. Windy at times over southern
parts.Very hot over the far southwest Kimberley, Pilbara, inland Gascoyne,
western and northern parts of the South West Land Division, northern
Goldfields, inland Eucla and western Interior.

Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, possibly heavy at times
over the northern Kimberley. Chance of a shower or thunderstorm over the inland
Gascoyne, central and eastern Pilbara, across most of the South West Land
Division, Goldfields, Interior and Eucla. Very hot over the southwest
Kimberley, Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, western and northern parts of the South
West Land Division, northern Goldfields and South Interior.
