Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough will persist over inland Kimberley and Pilbara this week.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A strengthening high pressure ridge lies to the south of the state. A deep
surface trough extends from the eastern Gascoyne to the Goldfields and is
slowly moving east. Another trough will develop down the west coast from
Tuesday and will deepen later in the week.

Forecast for the rest of Monday 1 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, Eucla, eastern
and southern Goldfields, and eastern parts of South East Coastal District.
Chance of thunderstorms with little or no rainfall over eastern and central
Pilbara, and far northeast Gascoyne. Showers or drizzle over southern coastal
districts and adjacent Goldfields. Very hot over the Kimberley, Pilbara,
northern Interior, northeast Gascoyne and far northern Goldfields. Windy at
times across the western Gascoyne, central West and Eucla.

Forecast for Tuesday 2 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Interior, Eucla, southern and
central Goldfields and South East Coastal District. Chance of thunderstorms
with little or no rainfall over the far northeast Pilbara, inland pats of the
South West Land Division and southeast Gascoyne. Showers or drizzle over
southwestern parts of the South West Land Division. Very hot over the
Kimberley, Pilbara, and northern Interior. Windy across southern parts of the
state.

Forecast for Wednesday 3 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley and eastern Interior. Chance of
thunderstorms with little or no rainfall over western Interior. Showers or
drizzle over southern coast districts east of Windy Harbour, Great Southern,
southern Goldfields. Very hot over the Kimberley, Pilbara, and North Interior.
Windy across central and southern parts of the state.

Forecast for Thursday 4 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley and northern Interior. Showers or
drizzle over southern coast districts east of Walpole, Goldfields, southern
Interior and eastern parts of the Gascoyne. Very hot over the Kimberley. Windy
across central and southwestern parts of the state.
