Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough will persist over inland Kimberley and Pilbara into next week.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A strengthening high pressure ridge lies to the south of the state with a
surface trough deepening down the west coast during today and Saturday bringing
warm to hot and windy conditions to southwestern parts. The trough will move
inland on Sunday, continuing to move east over inland parts on Monday.

Forecast for the rest of Friday 29 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over most of the Kimberley, and northeastern
Interior. Light showers or drizzle over southern coastal districts. Very hot
over the Kimberley, east Pilbara, Interior, and northern Goldfields. Windy
across southern parts of the state.

Forecast for Saturday 30 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley. Chance of thunderstorms
with little or no rainfall over the far east Pilbara, north and west Interior,
north and west Goldfields, and far northeastern parts of the South West Land
Division. Chance of showers and thunderstorms over southwestern parts of the
South West Land Division, contracting southwards and clearing during the
morning. Possible morning fog over the northern Central West and southwest
Gascoyne. Very hot over the Kimberley, eastern and central Pilbara, Interior,
east Gascoyne and northern Goldfields. Hot over most parts of the South West
Land Division away from the south coast. Windy across southern parts of the
state.

Forecast for Sunday 31 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley. Chance of thunderstorms with
little or no rainfall over the eastern Pilbara, Interior, Eucla, eastern
Gascoyne, Goldfields, and eastern and southern parts of the South West Land
Division. Possible morning fog over the Central West district. Very hot over
the Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior, and northeast Gascoyne, and southeastern
parts of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Monday 1 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley. Chance of thunderstorms with
little or no rainfall over the eastern Pilbara, Interior, Eucla, eastern
Gascoyne, and north and eastern Goldfields. Light showers or drizzle over
southern coastal districts. Very hot over the Kimberley, Pilbara and Interior.
