A broad area of low pressure persists over the northern districts. A strong
ridge of high pressure developing across the south of the State will direct a
cooler, drier southeast surge across much of the Pilbara and North Interior on
the weekend. The low pressure trough will contract to the northern Kimberley by
the end of the weekend as the surge reaches the southern Kimberley.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough over the Goldfields and far east South West Land Division will move
into the South Interior by Friday and further north by Saturday. A branch of
the trough extends down southern parts of the west coast, moving north as a new
strong ridge of high pressure develops across the south coast from Friday. A
high pressure system moves south of the State over the weekend bringing a fresh
and gusty southeasterly flow to most parts.
