Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A low pressure trough extends from the west Kimberley to the North Interior and
is being pushed further northeast over the Kimberley by a high pressure ridge
to the south.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure ridge is developing over southern parts of the State and will
dominate the weather pattern for the next few days. A weak cold front brushes
the south coast on today with another due later Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 17 August
Light showers southwest of Lancelin to Narrogin to Salmon Gums and along the
Eucla coast. Morning frost over the Central Wheat Belt, northern Great
Southern, far southeast Gascoyne and southwest Goldfields. Windy over the
Pilbara, Gascoyne and Interior.
Forecast for Friday 18 August
Light showers over the far southern parts of the South West Land Division.
Morning fog patches over most parts of the inland South West Land Division and
far southern Goldfields. Windy over the Pilbara, southern Kimberley, Gascoyne
and Interior.
Forecast for Saturday 19 August
Possible light showers southwest of Busselton to Albany. Morning fog patches
over most parts of the inland South West Land Division and far southern
Goldfields. Windy morning over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne and Interior.
Forecast for Sunday 20 August
Showers extending to southwest of Mandurah to Bremer Bay during the day. Light
falls. Morning fog patches over inland southern parts of the South West Land
Division.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
