Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure building over central Australia is directing an
easterly flow across the north. A weak trough over the Northern Interior will
slowly dissipate during today. Another trough will bring showers to western and
central Pilbara on Wednesday, before moving east later in the week ahead of a
south to southeast wind change.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure across southern WA is moving east, ahead of an
approaching cold front from the west. The cold front and associated rain band
will sweep through the central and southern parts of the State on Wednesday and
Thursday. A new ridge of high pressure will build quickly in the wake of the
cold front across the South West Land Division on Thursday and further east on
Friday.

Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 1 August
Showers west of Bunbury to Windy Harbour. Chance of morning fog over inland
southern parts of the South West Land Division. Chance of morning frost over
eastern and southern parts of the South West Land Division, southeast Gascoyne,
Goldfields and adjacent South Interior. Windy at times during the day over the
eastern Kimberley and southern parts of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Wednesday 2 August
Rain and showers over the South West Land Division and western Gascoyne,
spreading to eastern Gascoyne, Goldfields, Eucla and western Pilbara during the
day, and to western parts of the South Interior in the evening. Isolated gusty
thunderstorms possible about the west coast south of Geraldton, most likely in
the morning. Chance of small hail across the southwest districts. Windy at
times across eastern parts of the South West Land Division, Goldfields,
Gascoyne, southern Pilbara, eastern Kimberley, Interior and Eucla.

Forecast for Thursday 3 August
Showers over the South West Land Division, Gascoyne, central Pilbara, more
widespread with rain areas over the Goldfields, South Interior, Eucla and about
the south coast. Chance of small hail south of Bunbury to Hopetoun. Windy at
times across eastern Goldfields, South East Coastal, South Interior and Eucla.
Chance of morning frost and fog across inland western parts of the South West
Land Division.

Forecast for Friday 4 August
Showers over the eastern and northern parts of the South Interior, contracting
east during the day. Light showers over the southern coastal districts. Chance
of morning fog and morning frost over inland parts of the South West Land
Division, southern Gascoyne, southern Goldfields, adjacent South Interior and
inland parts of Eucla.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Tuesday.
