Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure over northern WA will weaken during Wednesday as a
cold front and associated trough reach the Gascoyne and west Pilbara. A ridge
will build through central WA on Thursday in the wake of the trough, bringing a
increasing southeasterly flow across the Pilbara on Friday and Saturday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cold front will continue crossing eastward through the South West Land
Division and over the south coast during Wednesday. A rather deep low will pass
south of the lower west coast on Wednesday before contracting southeastward
through the Southern Ocean on Wednesday night and Thursday. A high pressure
ridge will strengthen through central parts of the State on Wednesday and
Thursday, then the next cold front will brush the southwest corner on Friday.

Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 26 July
Cold, blustery and quite showery across the Lower West, South West, Great
Southern and South Coastal District with possible small hail southwest of a
line from Lancelin to Bremer Bay. Chance of thunderstorms and strong winds
about the southwest coast. Chance of showers with generally light falls south
and west of a line from Onslow to Wiluna to Israelite Bay. Fresh and gusty
north to northwesterly winds in the South Interior, Eucla and eastern and
northern Goldfields.

Forecast for Thursday 27 July
Showers southwest of Geraldton to Southern Cross to Eyre, most likely about
southern and western parts of the South West Land Division. Patchy morning
frost possible over the southeast Gascoyne. Winds gradually easing about the
south coast.

Forecast for Friday 28 July
Showers south and west of a line from Kalbarri to Southern Cross to Israelite
Bay, most likely about the Lower West, South West and South Coastal District.
Showers increasing in the afternoon and evening in the southwest corner.
developing over the South West Land Division and along the Eucla coast.
Possible fog in the morning over the inland Central West and Central Wheat
Belt. Patchy frost over the eastern Gascoyne, northern and eastern Goldfields
and southern South Interior.

Forecast for Saturday 29 July
Showers throughout the South West Land Division, most widespread in the Lower
West, South West and South Coastal District. Areas of frost in the morning
through the inland Gascoyne, northern and eastern Goldfields and South
Interior. Possible high-based showers in the eastern North Interior.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Wednesday.
