Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A slack pressure gradient will persist over the north of the State for the next
few days. A high pressure ridge pushing across the state from mid week should
drive fresher southeasterly winds over parts of the north of the State.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cold and unstable westerly airstream prevails over the south in the wake of a
strong strong cold front that moves into South Australia Tuesday morning. A
high pressure ridge will then push across central parts of Western Australia
from Wednesday with a weak cold front scraping the south coast on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 6 June
Showers over Cape Range in the Pilbara , southern and western Gascoyne,
Goldfields, Eucla, and South West Land Division, more frequent over the western
coastal districts. Chance of gusty thunderstorms over the southern Central
West, Lower West, South West, coastal parts of the South Coastal, South East
Coastal, southern Goldfields, and western Eucla districts. Possible small hail
over the southwest of the State. Windy over the southern parts of the State.
Forecast for Wednesday 7 June
Showers along the west coast, over the South West district, and extending along
the remaining south coast. Possible small hail along the south coast districts
between Albany and Israelite Bay. Possible morning frost over the southeast
Central Wheat Belt, Great Southern, and southwestern Goldfields.
Forecast for Thursday 8 June
Showers south and west of a line from Jurien Bay to Lake Grace to Israelite
Bay, with showers more frequent about the far southwest. Possible morning fog
over the Central Wheat Belt.
Forecast for Friday 9 June
Showers over the Lower West, South West, South Coastal, and coastal parts of
the South East Coastal and Eucla districts. Light showers also possible over
the Great Southern, southern parts of the Central Wheat Belt, and far
southwestern parts of the Goldfields.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Tuesday.
