Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A ridge that extends into northern parts of the State is weakening, bringing a
return to somewhat warmer temperatures, lighter winds, and a more humid flow
about coastal locations. A cooler and drier southeasterly flow will return to
southern and western parts of the Pilbara from Friday into the weekend as a new
ridge strengthens to the south.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cold front is moving across the South West Land Division and will continue
eastward through the Goldfields and Eucla today. A low pressure system will
deepen to the west of Esperance this morning, moving slowly eastward later
today into Friday to reach the Bight on Saturday. A new high pressure ridge
will build from west to east across southern and western parts of the State
through to Saturday. The next cold front is likely to reach the lower west
coast on Sunday.

Forecast for the rest of Thursday 1 June
Showers largely clearing from the west coast by the morning; just a slight
chance of showers across the Central West during the day. Showers continuing
over the south coastal districts and Great Southern, with possible heavy falls
mainly in the morning over the southeastern Great Southern, South Coastal
District, and western parts of the South East Coastal District. Chance of
thunderstorms in the southern Wheat Belt, Great Southern, South Coastal
District, South East Coastal District, and southern Goldfields. Windy over
coastal parts of the South East Coastal District.

Forecast for Friday 2 June
Slight chance of a morning shower along the Central West coast south of
Geraldton. Showers largely clearing during the day from the South West but
continuing over coastal parts further east, and most widespread about the
Esperance coast and Eucla coast. Colder through the inland South West Land
Division with a light frost possible over the western Wheat Belt and northern
Great Southern. Possible morning frost through inland parts of the South West
Land Division.

Forecast for Saturday 3 June
A possible morning shower about the South Coastal District. Showers continuing
over the South East Coastal District but gradually contracting eastwards during
the day. Showers and the chance of a thunderstorm about the Eucla, especially
near the coast. Areas of morning frost through inland parts of the South West
Land Division, southern Gascoyne, and western Goldfields.

Forecast for Sunday 4 June
Morning frost in parts of the inland South West Land Division, Goldfields,
southern and eastern Gascoyne, and South Interior. Showers throughout the South
West, extending to south and west of a line from Kalbarri to Southern Cross to
Hopetoun by Sunday evening. Possible early showers over the Eucla coast.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
