Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
Ridging associated with a high pressure system to the southeast extends into
northern parts of the state and will continue to gradually ease on Tuesday as
the high pressure centre moves east and a trough moves closer to the state. A
weak trough will form over the north Kimberley and extend through the Pilbara
on Wednesday. The trough will be pushed offshore on Thursday and Friday during
the mornings associated with another southeasterly surge.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure ridge over the state and will continue to weaken as a weak
trough offshore from the west coast moves closer to the state and inland on
Tuesday and Wednesday. A weak cold front will then move over the southwest of
the state Tuesday night and Wednesday behind the trough. Another high pressure
ridge will rapidly develop in the wake of the cold front, strengthening on
Thursday and Friday.

Forecast for the rest of Monday 22 May
Light showers southwest of a line Dongara to Esperance, though mostly about
western and adjacent inland parts between Perth and Moora.

Forecast for Tuesday 23 May
Showers southwest of a line from Lancelin to Esperance, extending to southwest
of Geraldton to Esperance to Israelite Bay during the afternoon and evening.
The chance of a thunderstorm along west coastal and adjacent inland parts south
of Dongara in the afternoon and evening. Colder than normal at night across the
Kimberley.

Forecast for Wednesday 24 May
Showers southwest of a line Kalbarri to Balladonia, mostly in the morning for
areas southwest of a line Perth to Bremer Bay. The chance of a morning
thunderstorm along the west coast and adjacent inland parts between Dongara and
Yanchep. Colder than normal at night across the Kimberley.

Forecast for Thursday 25 May
Light showers along the south coast west of Israelite Bay. Windy over central
parts. Colder than normal at night across the Kimberley.

Forecast for Friday 26 May
Possible light morning shower along the south coast between Windy Harbour and
Esperance. Windy over central and northern parts. Colder than normal at night
across the Kimberley.
