Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A strong high pressure ridge remains in place and will continue to direct dry,
cooler east to southeasterly flow through northern parts of the State during
the weekend and into early next week.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A dominant high pressure ridge will persist over the State into a early next
week as a weak trough lies well offshore from the west coast. The ridge over
western WA will gradually weaken on Monday and Tuesday, allowing the trough to
draw closer to the South West Capes during Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of Saturday 20 May
Areas of fog over the inland South East Coastal District, eastern Great
Southern and southern Goldfields. Possible light showers over coastal parts
east of Hopetoun. Windy over northern and central parts, especially in the
morning. Areas of smoke, mainly in the morning, near and downwind from burnoffs
in the South West Land Division. Colder than normal overnight throughout the
Kimberley.
Forecast for Sunday 21 May
Possible light morning frost over the northern South East Coastal District,
southern Goldfields and far eastern Central Wheat Belt. Windy over northern and
central parts, especially in the morning. Colder than normal at night across
the Kimberley.
Forecast for Monday 22 May
Slight chance of a light shower through the South West, inland Lower West,
western Wheat Belt and western Great Southern. Dry for the remainder of the
State. Windy in the morning across the Kimberley.
Forecast for Tuesday 23 May
Possible showers south and west of a line from Jurien Bay to Bremer Bay, mainly
in the afternoon and evening. Showers most likely about the South West Capes
and adjacent inland parts. Not as windy in the morning across the Kimberley.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Saturday.
