Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A weak trough lies near the Kimberley and Pilbara coasts and extends down the
Gascoyne coast. A firm high pressure ridge over northern parts of the State is
directing a fresh and gusty east to southeasterly flow, pushing the trough
offshore during the mornings.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A firm high pressure ridge extending through most of the State will slowly
recede east from Tuesday. A trough near the Gascoyne coast connects to a low
pressure system offshore from the Central West coast. The low is drifting
southward, passing west of the South West Capes during today. The trough will
move east on Tuesday, crossing the west coast in advance of the next moderate
cold front across the western and southern parts of the State on Wednesday.

Forecast for the rest of Monday 8 May
Light showers along the Eucla coast. Isolated showers west of a line from
Walpole to Brookton to Coral Bay. Thunderstorms possible about the Central West

Gascoyne, Central West, Lower West, and South West, as well as western areas in
the Central Wheat Belt, Great Southern and South East Coastal. Windy across

Land Division, Goldfields and western parts of Eucla. Windy about southern and
central parts of the South West Land Division, southern Goldfields and parts of
the Eucla district.
