Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A weak trough extends from the Kimberley coast to the Pilbara coast and down
the Gascoyne coast. A high pressure ridge building across central Australia
will push the trough offshore off the central and east Pilbara and Kimberley
coasts in the mornings. The ridge will continue to strengthen over the weekend,
increasing the E/SE wind surge over the area and keeping the trough offshore.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A weak high pressure ridge is extending eastward along the south coast as the
remnants of a weak cold front brushing the south coast continues to move east.
The ridge will move south of the state and strengthen on Friday and Saturday
with a high pressure centre moving into Bight waters over the weekend. A
surface trough will deepen near or offshore from the west coast over the
weekend, with a low pressure system forming in the trough. A cloud band
associated with this trough will extend across the western and southern parts
of the state over the weekend.

Forecast for the rest of Friday 5 May
Light showers over southern districts of the South West Land Division, Eucla
and southern Goldfields, contracting to the south coast during the day. Showers
and possible thunderstorms over the western Gascoyne and northern parts of the
Central West district. Windy in the southwest, extending through remaining
southern parts during the day. Warm across inland Gascoyne, northern Goldfields
and South Interior.

Forecast for Saturday 6 May
Light showers along the south and Eucla coast. Showers and possible
thunderstorms over the southwestern Gascoyne and northern parts of the South
West Land Division, with showers extending south and east over most parts of
the South West Land Division during the day. Windy over southern and eastern
parts of the State.

Forecast for Sunday 7 May
Light showers along the Eucla coast. Showers over the South West Land Division
and far southwestern parts of the Gascoyne and Goldfield, with thunderstorms
possible about northern parts of the South West Land Division and adjacent
southwest Gascoyne. Windy over most parts of the State.

Forecast for Monday 8 May

districts of the South West Land Division. Windy over most parts of the State.
