Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A weak trough extends from the Kimberley west coast to the Pilbara coast and
down the Gascoyne coast. A high pressure ridge building across central
Australia will push the trough offshore on Wednesday. The ridge will shift
eastwards from Thursday, allowing the trough to move back over the Pilbara.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure ridge is strengthening eastward along the south coast with a
weak surface trough developing down the west coast. The ridge and trough will
move eastwards on Thursday, ahead of a weak cold front brushing the south coast
later on Thursday. A new ridge of high pressure will form south of the state on
Friday. Another trough will deepen in the vicinity of the west coast with a low
pressure system forming on Friday. A cloud band associated with this trough
will extend across the western and southern parts of the state by the weekend.
