Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A surface trough extends from the Kimberley into the Pilbara and is starting to
extend down the Gascoyne coast. A new high pressure system will become
established over southern parts of the state on Tuesday and Wednesday,
extending a ridge north pushing the trough offshore of the Pilbara and
Kimberley coasts in the mornings. The ridge will start to weaken over the
Pilbara from Thursday bringing the trough back over land.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure ridge over the south of the state is weakening as a surface
trough brushes the south coast this morning. The ridge will strengthening
eastward in the wake of the front on Tuesday with another surface trough
developing down the west coast during the week pushing the high pressure ridge
south of the state.

Forecast for the rest of Monday 1 May
Showers south of a line Harvey to Narrogin to Israelite Bay, gradually clearing
inland parts during the day. Light falls expected. Isolated afternoon showers
and thunderstorms in the northwest Kimberley. Slight chance of light showers
for the west Pilbara and northwest Gascoyne. Possible morning fog in the Great
Southern, inland South Coastal and South East Coastal Districts.

Forecast for Tuesday 2 May
Slight chance of showers about the south coast. Isolated afternoon showers and
thunderstorms in the west Kimberley. Possible morning fog in the Great
Southern, inland South Coastal and South East Coastal Districts, and far
southern Goldfields.

Forecast for Wednesday 3 May
Possible morning fog in the inland South Coastal and South East Coastal
Districts. Partly cloudy over the northwest of the State, extending to the
southeast. Mostly sunny over the remainder.

Forecast for Thursday 4 May
Chance of showers and thunderstorms over the Gascoyne and adjacent west
Pilbara. Light showers about the south coast west of Bremer Bay. Possible
morning fog in the eastern South West and South Coastal districts.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Monday.
