Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A slow moving trough lies over inland Kimberley and Pilbara.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure across the Southern Ocean directs an easterly flow
over southern WA, while a broad trough over the South West Land Division and
Gascoyne deepens. The trough is slowly moving inland but will branch back
towards the west coast on Friday. The trough will move inland once again on the
weekend, followed by a ridge of high pressure.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 23 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, inland Gascoyne,
Goldfields, Eucla, western parts of the Interior, and eastern parts of the
South West Land Division, mostly in the afternoon and evening. Showers over
remaining southern coastal districts. Possible morning fog in the Central West
and northern parts of the Lower West districts. Very hot over inland Gascoyne,
Pilbara and Interior.
Forecast for Friday 24 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne,
Goldfields, Eucla, western Interior, northern and eastern parts of the South
West Land Division, mostly in the afternoon and evening. Showers over remaining
southern coastal districts. Possible morning fog in the Central West and
northern Lower West Districts. Very hot over northeast Gascoyne, eastern and
southern Pilbara, and Interior.
Forecast for Saturday 25 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over northern and western Kimberley, Pilbara,
Gascoyne, Goldfields, Eucla, western and southern Interior, and South West Land
Division. Areas of rain in the south. Possible morning fog over southern parts
of Central West. Very hot over eastern Interior.
Forecast for Sunday 26 March
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over western Kimberley, Pilbara, inland
Gascoyne, Goldfields, Eucla, western and southern Interior, and South West Land
Division. Areas of rain in the south.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
