Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad area of low pressure lies over northern parts of the State. A ridge
strengthening to the south will bring a dry southeasterly surge into the inland
Kimberley, pushing the trough closer to the north coast, where it is expected
to lie into mid next week.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A deep surface trough inland from the west coast will move slowly eastwards
through the inland Gascoyne and South West Land Division today as a new ridge
strengthens across the southwest coast.
Forecast for the rest of Monday 6 February
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the far northern and western Kimberley,
Pilbara, and inland Gascoyne. Possible high-based gusty thunderstorms with
little or no rainfall over the south and eastern Great Southern, southwestern
Goldfields, South Coastal and South East Coastal Districts. Very hot over
eastern parts of the South West Land Division, Goldfields, northern and inland
parts of the Gascoyne and west Pilbara.
Forecast for Tuesday 7 February
Slight chance of thunderstorms over the northwest Kimberley. Possible morning
coastal shower between Bremer Bay and Esperance. The chance of early morning
fog over inland central parts of the South West Land Division. Very hot over
northeastern parts of the South West Land Division, Goldfields, inland Gascoyne
and inland Pilbara.
Forecast for Wednesday 8 February
Showers and thunderstorms over Kimberley and adjacent northeast Pilbara. The
chance of early morning fog over southern districts of the South West Land
Division. Very hot over far northeastern parts of the South West Land Division,
Goldfields, inland Gascoyne and inland Pilbara.
Forecast for Thursday 9 February
Showers and thunderstorms over Kimberley and adjacent northeast Pilbara. The
chance of early morning fog over southern districts of the South West Land
Division. Very hot over far northeastern parts of the South West Land Division,
Goldfields, inland Gascoyne and inland Pilbara.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Monday.
