Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad area of low pressure persists across the Pilbara, North Interior and
Kimberley. A tropical low is expected to move into Timor Sea late Tuesday to
the north of the Kimberley. It is expected to then move west southwest to the
north of Western Australia and gradually develop later in the week.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge will extend across the southwest coast and build across the southern
coastal areas during Tuesday and Wednesday, before weakening on Thursday as a
west coast trough redevelops. The west coast trough will move inland on Friday
ahead of a cold front across the south coast, followed by a firm ridge of high
pressure.

Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 24 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over northern and western Kimberley, Pilbara,
North Interior, Gascoyne, eastern Central Wheat Belt, eastern Great Southern,
western Goldfields and adjacent South East Coastal district. Isolated heavy
falls possible over northwest Kimberley. Few light showers or areas of drizzle
over the southern coast districts west of Israelite Bay. Very hot over inland
Central West, Central Wheat Belt, eastern Great Southern, western Goldfields
and inland parts of South East Coastal district.

Forecast for Wednesday 25 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northern and
western parts of North Interior, inland Gascoyne, far northeast parts of
Central West, far northeast Central Wheat Belt, Goldfields, Eucla and adjacent
South East Coastal district. Heavy falls possible over northern Kimberley.
Showers or areas of drizzle over southern coastal districts and southeastern
parts of Great Southern. Very hot through northeastern parts of Central West.

Forecast for Thursday 26 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northern parts of
the Interior, inland Gascoyne, far northeast parts of Central West, western
Goldfields and eastern parts of Central Wheat Belt. Heavy falls possible over
western Kimberley. Chance of light showers on the south coast east of Albany.
Very hot through inland Central West and northern parts of the Central Wheat
Belt.

Forecast for Friday 27 January
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior, eastern
Gascoyne, Goldfields, South East Coastal and Eucla. Possibly becoming windy
with heavy falls over southwest Kimberley and eastern Pilbara. Showers
southwest of Perth and Lake Grace.
