Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad area of low pressure persists over the Pilbara and Kimberley.
Ex-Tropical Cyclone Ellie is slow moving over land in the Northern Territory.
The system will move towards the WA/NT border today and on Wednesday, and may
move into the southeast Kimberley on Thursday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough over inland parts of the State will move northeast today and Wednesday
as a strong high pressure ridge extends east over the south of the state. A
high pressure system will then become established in the Bight on Wednesday and
Thursday with another trough forming down the west coast. The trough will move
inland from the west coast on Friday.

Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 27 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior, east
Gascoyne, east Goldfields, and Eucla. Chance of light morning showers over
south coastal parts of the South West Land Division. Windy over southern and
central parts. Very hot over parts of the Pilbara and Interior.

Forecast for Wednesday 28 December
Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley with the chance of locally
heavy falls in the east. Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Pilbara,
north Gascoyne, North Interior, and northern parts of South Interior. Windy
over southern and central parts. Very hot over far northwest Gascoyne and
Pilbara.

Forecast for Thursday 29 December
Rain, showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley and adjacent North
Interior, with possible heavy falls. Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the
Pilbara, north Gascoyne, remaining North Interior, and northern parts of South
Interior. Windy over central parts. Very hot over west Gascoyne, Central West
and inland northern parts of the Lower West districts.

Forecast for Friday 30 December
Rain, showers and gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley and adjacent North
Interior, with possible heavy falls. Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the
Pilbara, remaining North Interior, and northern parts of South Interior. Very
hot over west Gascoyne, Central West, Central Wheat Belt and north and east
Great Southern districts.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Tuesday.
