Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough extending from the North Interior into the southeast Pilbara will
contract towards NT and SA, while a ridge extends into southern and western
parts of the Pilbara. A new branch of the trough will deepen westward over the
north Pilbara coast during today and will remain in place into Wednesday. A low
pressure centre will develop within the trough over the west Pilbara during
Wednesday night and then will start tracing toward the southeast on Thursday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough with a couple of embedded lows extends from the Interior toward the
Southeast coast as an Indian Ocean high extends a ridge across the western part
of the State. One of the lows will move into South Australia early today, while
the base of the trough lingers over the Esperance region. A weak cold front
will brush the southwest corner of the State on Tuesday night and Wednesday
morning before the ridge strengthens over the southern part of the State on
Thursday. A trough and embedded low over northern WA will start moving
southeast through the Gascoyne and Goldfields later Thursday into Friday.

Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 25 October
A few showers over the south coastal districts, southern and eastern
Goldfields, and especially near the coast from Jurien Bay southward through
Bunbury. Chance of thunderstorms over the Eucla and southern South Interior,
contracting towards South Australia and clearing during the day. Possible
high-based showers and thunderstorms over the Interior deserts. Remaining very
hot in the northeast Kimberley with the slight chance of an afternoon shower or
thunderstorm.

Forecast for Wednesday 26 October
A few showers possible over the South West, Great Southern, South Coastal
District, South East Coastal District and Eucla. Very hot conditions persisting
over the northeast Kimberley. Sunny skies expected through the Pilbara,
Gascoyne, Mid West and northern Goldfields.

Forecast for Thursday 27 October
Light showers over the southern part of the South West Land Division, extending
into the western Eucla. Another cloud band may produce high-based showers and
thunderstorms from the southwest Kimberley through the North Interior and far
northeastern Pilbara. Chance of early fog over the eastern parts of the Eucla.
Slight chance of an afternoon thunderstorm in the northeast Kimberley.

Forecast for Friday 28 October
Isolated showers over southern parts of the South West Land Division, extending
to central and northern areas late in the day or at night. Chance of showers
over the southern Goldfields with possible showers and storms through the Eucla
and Interior. Very hot again in the northeast Kimberley but cooler than normal
maximum temperatures continuing through the Pilbara and west Kimberley coast.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Tuesday.
