Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
Hot across the Kimberley. Light winds throughout the north as a broad trough
lies over the area. A trough over the Pilbara and North Interior will move
eastwards on Monday while a high pressure ridge develops to the south on
Tuesday, resulting in a period of fresh southeasterly winds.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure lies over southern parts of the State. A trough over
the eastern Gascoyne and Goldfields will move eastwards later today and Monday
extending into the South Interior and Eucla. A vigorous cold front will cross
the west coast early Monday morning before moving over remaining southern parts
during the day. The ridge then redevelops over central parts of the State on
Tuesday but a further cold front moves through later Wednesday.

Forecast for the rest of Sunday 18 September
Mostly light showers over much of the South West Land Division, increasing near
the south west Capes late evening. Morning fog possible over the inland South
West Land Division.

Forecast for Monday 19 September
Gusty showers throughout the South West Land Division, southeast Gascoyne,
southern Goldfields and Eucla, most widespread along the west and south coasts.
Chance of thunderstorms near the west and south coasts, south of Jurien Bay and
through the Southeast Coastal district, far southern Goldfields and Eucla.
Small hail possible southwest of Jurien Bay to Albany. Becoming windy over a
large area of the State.

Forecast for Tuesday 20 September
Showers over southwest parts of the South West Land Division and along the
south coast and Eucla. Windy over the north of the State, apart from the
northern Kimberley. Possible frost over eastern parts of the Central Wheat
Belt, Great Southern and southwest Goldfields.

Forecast for Wednesday 21 September
Showers southwest of Jurien Bay to Esperance. Chance of thunderstorms over the
far northern Kimberley.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Sunday.
