Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A cloud band extends over the far western Pilbara this evening. A trough near
the far western Pilbara on Tuesday morning will slowly move east, whilst a high
pressure ridge develops over the south of the State from Wednesday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cloud band extends across the south of the state ahead of cold front moving
across the South West Land Division. The cloud band and front will move east
during Tuesday allowing a trough to move across the southwest during Wednesday,
followed by a strong ridge on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 16 August
Rain and showers southwest of a line from Onslow to Eucla. Chance of
thunderstorms over western Gascoyne, Central West, Lower West, South West and
Central Wheat Belt. Heavy falls possible over the Central West and northwestern
parts of the Central Wheat Belt. Morning fog over northwestern Pilbara and
southwest Kimberley.
Forecast for Wednesday 17 August
Rain and showers over South West Land Division, Gascoyne, far western Pilbara,
Goldfields, Eucla and southwestern parts of South Interior. Chance of gusty
thunderstorms over the southwestern parts and south coast of the South West
Land Division. Small hail possible about the South West.
Forecast for Thursday 18 August
Showers along the entire south coast with possible small hail between Albany
and Bremer Bay. Light showers also possible over the Lower West, southern parts
of the Great Southern, southern Goldfields, southern parts of the South
Interior, and remaining parts of the South West and Eucla. Morning fog and
frosts over the South West Land Division.
Forecast for Friday 19 August
Light showers over the Lower West, South West, southwestern parts of the Great
Southern, and along the south coast.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Tuesday.
