Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough extends from the western Kimberly to a tropical low located offshore
from the Pilbara coast. This low should weaken and slowly move east during
today and Wednesday, with an associated trough then lingering over the
Kimberley for the remainder of the week.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure system located just southwest of the State will move along
southern parts of the State during today and Wednesday. A moderate cold front
should reach the southwest Capes later on Wednesday, brushing the south coast
on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 31 May
Rain over the western Kimberley, Interior and northeastern Gascoyne. Showers
over the Pilbara, northern and southern Goldfields, southern parts of the South
West Land Division and Eucla. Possible thunderstorms over the west Kimberley,
east Pilbara, western Interior and northeast Gascoyne, more likely over the
west Kimberley. Possible heavy falls over the west Kimberley.
Forecast for Wednesday 1 June
Showers over the Kimberley, eastern Pilbara, Interior, far northeastern
Gascoyne, Goldfields and southwest parts of the South West Land Division.
Possible thunderstorms over the Kimberley and adjacent North Interior.
Forecast for Thursday 2 June
Showers over the Kimberley, eastern Interior, Eucla, southern Goldfields and
South West Land Division. Possible thunderstorms over the Kimberley, far
northeast Interior, and near coastal parts of the southern South West Land
Division.
Forecast for Friday 3 June
Showers and possible thunderstorms over northeastern parts of the Kimberley and
far northeast Interior. Showers possible over the South West Land Division and
Eucla District mainly about the coasts.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Tuesday.
