Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
Ex-Tropical Cyclone Anika continues to move slowly southwest across the
northwest Kimberley and is likely to redevelop as it moves off the west
Kimberley coast during Tuesday afternoon and intensify further. A severe
tropical cyclone impact to the east Pilbara or west Kimberley coast is forecast
on late Wednesday or Thursday. In remaining parts, a trough extends from the
Pilbara in to central parts of the state.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough extends from the eastern Gascoyne into the South West Land Division
and will continue to move east across southern parts Tuesday and Wednesday,
expected east of the State by Wednesday night. A new high pressure ridge will
extend east south of the state behind the trough.

Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 1 March
Windy, rain with heavy falls possible over the northwest Kimberley with showers
and gusty thunderstorms elsewhere in the Kimberley. Isolated showers and gusty
thunderstorms over the central and east Pilbara, Interior, far northeast
Gascoyne, eastern Goldfields and adjacent Eucla. Showers over the southwestern
parts of the State closer to the coast.

Forecast for Wednesday 2 March
Very windy, rain with heavy falls possible over the western Kimberley and
northeastern parts of the Pilbara. Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the
remaining Kimberley, central Pilbara, Interior, far northeast Gascoyne, eastern
Goldfields and Eucla. Showers over the southwestern parts of the State.

Forecast for Thursday 3 March
Very windy, rain with heavy falls possible over southwest Kimberley, western
parts of the Interior, and eastern parts of the Pilbara. Showers and gusty
thunderstorms elsewhere over the Kimberley, central Pilbara, Interior, far
northeast Gascoyne, eastern Goldfields and Eucla. Showers over southern parts
of the State.

Forecast for Friday 4 March
Windy, rain with heavy falls possible over the Interior. Isolated showers and
gusty thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, remaining Interior and Eucla.
Showers over southern coastal districts.
