Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
Tropical Cyclone Anika has crossed the North Kimberley coast and is weakening
as it tracks southwest close to the Kimberley coast. It is then expected to
move offshore late Monday or Tuesday and redevelop. Meanwhile, a trough extends
from the southern Kimberley to the Pilbara coast.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough extends from the northeast Gascoyne and into the Interior. A new
trough will develop near the west coast during today, deepening on Monday
before moving east on Tuesday as a new high approaches the southwest coast.
Forecast for the rest of Sunday 27 February
Very windy, rain and heavy falls over the northern Kimberley, showers and gusty
thunderstorms elsewhere over the Kimberley. Showers and thunderstorms over the
western Pilbara. Showers over the southern parts of the State with the chance
of thunderstorms over the southeast Goldfields, eastern Southeast Coastal
district and Eucla.
Forecast for Monday 28 February
Windy, rain with heavy falls possible over the northern Kimberley with showers
and gusty thunderstorms elsewhere in the Kimberley. Showers and thunderstorms
over the Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne, far east Goldfields and parts of the
Interior.
Forecast for Tuesday 1 March
Windy, rain with heavy falls possible over the northwest Kimberley with showers
and gusty thunderstorms elsewhere in the Kimberley. Showers and thunderstorms
over the eastern Pilbara, Interior, northeast Gascoyne and northern Goldfields.
Showers over the southwestern parts of the State.
Forecast for Wednesday 2 March
Windy, rain with heavy falls possible over the western Kimberley and far
northern parts of the Pilbara. Showers and gusty thunderstorms over the eastern
Kimberley, central Pilbara, Interior, far northeast Gascoyne and eastern
Goldfields. Showers over the southern parts of the State.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Sunday.
