Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
An active monsoon trough extends across the Kimberley while another trough
remains over inland parts of the Pilbara. A developing Tropical Low is expected
to move into the southeast Kimberley across the WA/NT border during today and
become slow moving over the southern Kimberley or adjacent North Interior on
Monday before moving further west middle of next week.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A deep trough extending from inland Gascoyne down the west coast will move
inland during today. A new ridge will develop south of the State on Monday and
push the trough back offshore on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of Sunday 30 January
Rain and and gusty thunderstorms over the western Kimberley. Showers and
thunderstorms over the remainder of the Kimberley and eastern parts of the
Interior. Isolated shower or thunderstorm over the Pilbara, Gascoyne and
central and inland western parts of the South West Land Division. Heavy falls
possible over the Kimberley.
Forecast for Monday 31 January
Rain, showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northeast Pilbara and
Interior. Heavy falls possible over the Kimberley and adjacent North Interior.
Showers near the coast and the adjacent inland between Augusta and Esperance.
Forecast for Tuesday 1 February
Rain, showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara and Interior. Heavy
falls possible over the southern Kimberley, eastern Interior and far eastern
Pilbara.
Forecast for Wednesday 2 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara and Interior. Heavy falls
possible over the southern Kimberley, North Interior and eastern Pilbara.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Sunday.
