Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A heat trough over the North Interior extends southwest. On Thursday and
Friday, the trough will move eastwards to be located near the border on Friday.
Another trough will develop near the Pilbara coast, extending to the North
Interior, from Friday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A broad trough lies over the inland Gascoyne and South West Land Division. The
trough will move eastwards to be over the Goldfields/Southeast Coastal district
on Thursday, and near the border on Friday. A cold front will move over the
southwest of the state on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 16 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and east Kimberley, southern parts of
the South Interior, southeast Goldfields, Eucla and eastern parts of the South
West Land Division. Possible light showers along the western south coast.
Forecast for Friday 17 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and east Kimberley, and northeastern
parts of the North Interior. Showers southwest of a line from Geraldton to
Esperance.
Forecast for Saturday 18 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and east Kimberley, and northeastern
parts of the North Interior. Possible morning light coastal showers between
Perth and Albany.
Forecast for Sunday 19 December
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, eastern Pilbara, and northern
parts of the North Interior. Possible morning light coastal showers over the
far southwest coast.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
