Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad area of low pressure extends from the Kimberley through inland parts of
the Pilbara. The trough contracts into the North Interior today as a front
moves over southern parts of WA. A ridge of high pressure develops over the
central west coast on Thursday and Friday resulting in fresh southerly flow
across the Pilbara, particularly in the west.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A trough over inland parts of the South West Land Division will move east
through the Goldfields today as a cold front moves over southwestern parts of
the State. The front pushes through the South West Land Division and western
Gascoyne on Thursday with a ridge developing over the central west coast in its
wake later in the day and during Friday. A weak cold front slides over
southwestern parts of the South West Land Division on Saturday.

Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 15 September
Areas of morning fog about the west Pilbara coast, about the Esperance coast
and inland from the coast between Kalbarri and Bunbury. Showers developing
about the South West Capes during the morning, extending to areas southwest of
a line from Kalbarri to Hopetoun during the day. A chance of thunderstorms over
coastal and adjacent parts between Lancelin and Walpole, most likely in the
afternoon and evening. Possible raised dust through the Interior during the
morning and early afternoon.

Forecast for Thursday 16 September
Showers southwest of a line from Denham to Israelite Bay clearing from inland
areas during the afternoon and evening. A chance of thunderstorms over coastal
and adjacent parts between Lancelin and Walpole, most likely in the morning.
Wind gusts up to 80 km/h possible in showers and thunderstorms between Lancelin
and Bremer Bay. Possible hail about the southern coastal districts. Chance of a
shower or thunderstorm over the eastern Kimberley and northeast Interior.

Forecast for Friday 17 September
Possible patchy frost in eastern parts of the Central Wheat Belt and northern
parts of the Great Southern. Showers near the south coast and west coast south
of Lancelin. Possible hail near the south coast. Chance of a shower or
thunderstorm over the eastern Kimberley and northeast Interior.

Forecast for Saturday 18 September
Widespread frost likely through northern and eastern parts of the Great
Southern, throughout the Central Wheat Belt, southern Goldfields and adjacent
inland areas of the South East Coastal district. Showers southwest of Lancelin
to Bremer Bay, most likely through the South West district.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Wednesday.
