Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A strong high pressure ridge lies over southern parts of the State, with fresh
and gusty east to southeasterly winds over northern parts. The ridge contracts
eastwards over the weekend as a trough crosses slowly over the west Pilbara.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure system lies over southern parts of the State and will move into
the Bight by Friday. A cold front approaches the west coast on Saturday and
moves through during the evening. Another stronger front will cross the
southwest of the State late Sunday, then another strong front crosses the south
of the State later on Monday.

Forecast for the rest of Friday 6 August
Mostly sunny conditions across the State.

Forecast for Saturday 7 August
Showers near west coastal parts of the State, increasing in the afternoon with
thunderstorms possible southwest of Mandurah to Walpole. Showers extending
through remaining parts southwest of a line from Exmouth to Esperance in the
afternoon and evening.

Forecast for Sunday 8 August
Showers southwest of a line Onslow to Israelite Bay, with a chance of late
thunderstorms about the Southwest Capes.

Forecast for Monday 9 August
Squally showers and a chance of thunderstorms over areas southwest of Geraldton
to Albany with moderate falls possible. Showers over remaining areas southwest
of Mardie to Eucla.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Friday.
