Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A high pressure system lies in the Bight and will gradually retreat eastwards
over the coming days. A low pressure trough to the west of the Pilbara will
move slowly east to reach the eastern Pilbara by Sunday. A new ridge of high
pressure will develop over central WA in its wake early next week.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure system lies in the Bight and will gradually retreat eastwards
over the coming days. A low pressure trough is developing off the west coast
and will move slowly east across the State on Friday and Saturday. A cold front
will move across southwestern parts of the State during Saturday in its wake.
On Sunday, a low pressure system is likely to develop near the south coast and
move into the Bight early next week. A new ridge of high pressure will develop
over southern WA on Tuesday.

Forecast for the rest of Friday 28 May
Showers and thunderstorms over western areas of the State, increasing during
the afternoon and evening. Moderate falls possible about the western Pilbara,
western Gascoyne, and northern and western parts of the South West Land
Division.

Forecast for Saturday 29 May
Showers and thunderstorms over the western Pilbara, the Gascoyne, Goldfields
and throughout the South West Land Division, with some moderate falls possible.
Showers developing over remaining areas southwest of a line from Port Hedland
to Eucla.

Forecast for Sunday 30 May
Showers over the Pilbara, the Gascoyne, Goldfields, Interior, Eucla and mainly
western and southern South West Land Division. Moderate to heavy falls possible
about the southwest coast and adjacent inland. Showers mainly clearing from the
western Gascoyne and western Pilbara during the day. Thunderstorms possible
over the far southeastern Pilbara, northwest Interior and northeast Gascoyne.

Forecast for Monday 31 May
Showers and thunderstorms over the central and eastern Pilbara, interior and
Eucla. Showers over the South West Land Division and Gascoyne coast, with some
moderate to heavy falls and possible thunderstorms near the south coast.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Friday.
