Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A deep trough lies over the central Pilbara and will gradually weaken as it
moves east into the Interior during Thursday. By Sunday the trough will lie
from the North Interior through to the western Pilbara.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A broad trough extends from the Gascoyne to the South West Capes and will
contract east through the South West Land Division during Thursday, then weaken
over the east of the State on Friday. A ridge of high pressure lies south of
the state, with a high pressure system in the Bight. A new ridge will develop
over the southwest of the state on Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 4 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, eastern Pilbara, eastern
Gascoyne, Goldfields, northern and western Interior, western Eucla and the
South West Land Division. Showers also for the Gascoyne coast. Squally winds
and moderate to heavy falls possible in thunderstorms for southern and eastern
parts of the South West Land Division and the Goldfields.
Forecast for Friday 5 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, eastern Pilbara, northeastern
Gascoyne, Interior, Goldfields, the Southeast Coastal district and Eucla.
Showers possible over remaining parts of the Southwest Land Division.
Forecast for Saturday 6 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, eastern Pilbara, northeast
Gascoyne, Interior and the eastern Eucla. Showers possible over southern and
central parts of the South West Land Division.
Forecast for Sunday 7 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, eastern Pilbara, northeast
Gascoyne and Interior. Showers possible over southern and central parts of the
South West Land Division.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
