Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough lies over the Pilbara and extends to a weakening tropical low
over the northern Interior. The tropical low will continue to move slowly south
and weaken further during Thursday before contracting east on Friday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure is developing near the south coast and will be the
dominant feature during Thursday and Friday. A high pressure system will move
into the Bight during Saturday and a trough will form near the west coast. The
trough will deepen further on Sunday near the west coast.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 11 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northeast Gascoyne, far
eastern Goldfields, eastern Eucla and Interior. Rain areas with moderate to
heavy falls possible over central parts of the Interior.
Forecast for Friday 12 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northern Gascoyne and
Interior.
Forecast for Saturday 13 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, western Gascoyne,
northern Central West and the north and east Interior.
Forecast for Sunday 14 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, central and western
Gascoyne, northern Central West and the north and east Interior.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
