Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough lies over the inland Kimberley and extends to a tropical low
over the northeast Pilbara. The tropical low is expected to track towards the
west, and may move offshore from the central or western Pilbara coast during
Tuesday and develop into a Tropical Cyclone. It is then forecast to move
roughly parallel to the Pilbara coast.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure is building south of the state. A trough will deepen
near the west coast over the coming days. A weak front will brush the south
coast during Wednesday.

Forecast for the rest of Monday 1 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior, Gascoyne,
northern Goldfields and the adjacent Eucla. Rain periods with squally winds and
heavy falls possible over the far western Kimberley and the central and eastern
Pilbara.

Forecast for Tuesday 2 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northern and western
Interior, Gascoyne, Goldfields and northern parts of the South West Land
Division. Squally winds and heavy falls possible over the central and western
Pilbara.

Forecast for Wednesday 3 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior, Gascoyne,
Goldfields and northern parts of the South West Land Division. Squally winds
and heavy falls possible over the western Pilbara and northwestern Gascoyne.
Showers possible along the south coast east of Walpole and the Eucla district.

Forecast for Thursday 4 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Interior, Gascoyne,
northern Goldfields and northern parts of the Central West district. Squally
winds and heavy falls possible over the western Pilbara and northwestern
Gascoyne. Showers possible through the eastern Eucla district.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Monday.
