Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough over the inland Kimberley extends through the North Interior and to
the Pilbara. A tropical low off the western Kimberley coast will move slowly
towards the southeast during Wednesday. Although this low is unlikely to
develop into a tropical cyclone, shower and thunderstorm activity is likely to
increase over the western Kimberley and northeast Pilbara as the low moves
closer to the coast. A second tropical low located east of Christmas Island is
forecast to move southeast towards the Pilbara coast over the next few days.
This low is also unlikely to develop into a tropical cyclone, however it is
forecast to increase shower and thunderstorm activity through the Pilbara
region on Thursday and Friday as it approaches and crosses the Pilbara coast.
The second low will weaken as it moves southeast through the central parts of
the State Friday night and Saturday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure lies to the south of the State. A deep surface trough
lies near the west coast and remain near stationary over the next few days. The
trough will move inland from the west coast on Saturday.
