Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A ridge over southern parts of the State extends a fresh southeasterly flow
across the Pilbara, North Interior and southern Kimberly. A trough lies over
the far northern Kimberley. Southeasterly winds will weaken after today as a
broad trough begins to develop near the Pilbara coast.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A large high pressure system lies south of the State and will move south of the
Bight during Wednesday. A weak trough will move through the South West Land
Division on Wednesday ahead of a cold front that approaches the southwest Capes
later in the day, moving east over the South West Land Division on Thursday. A
weak ridge will develop over the south of the State during Friday.
Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 6 October
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and east Kimberley. Showers over the
eastern Interior and Eucla.
Forecast for Wednesday 7 October
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and east Kimberley. Morning showers
over the Eucla. Showers developing over the South West District during the
afternoon, extending to be southwest of a line Yanchep to Albany during the
evening.
Forecast for Thursday 8 October
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and east Kimberley. Showers southwest
of a line from Dongara to Israelite Bay with the chance of a thunderstorm south
of a line Bunbury to Esperance. Mainly light falls inland.
Forecast for Friday 9 October
Showers and thunderstorms over the north and east Kimberley. Chance of a shower
near the coast between Dongara and Albany.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Tuesday.
