Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
The trough extends from the inland Pilbara to the southern Kimberley and into
the North Interior. A strong ridge will develop through central parts of the
State on Sunday and Monday with a trough developing and extending from the
Pilbara coast to the Kimberley coast on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A deep low pressure system lying south of the State will continue to contract
east during Sunday maintaining a fresh westerly flow over southern parts. A
ridge develops through central parts of the State on Sunday and Monday before
drifting towards the south coast on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of Sunday 20 September
Gusty showers with small hail about southern and western parts of the South
West Land Division with mainly light falls inland. A chance of a squally
thunderstorm over southern coastal parts. Possible damaging winds with showers
and thunderstorms along the south coast in the morning and early afternoon.
Forecast for Monday 21 September
Showers about southern parts of the South West Land Division and the Eucla
coast, with a chance of a morning shower about the west coast south of Lancelin.
Forecast for Tuesday 22 September
Showers about coastal and adjacent parts between Lancelin and Israelite Bay,
extending into southwestern parts of the Great Southern for a period during the
day. A chance of an afternoon shower or thunderstorm over the northeast
Kimberley.
Forecast for Wednesday 23 September
A chance of a shower or thunderstorm over the northeast Kimberley.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Sunday.
