Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough lies inland from the Kimberley and Pilbara coast. The trough
will deepen over the Pilbara during Tuesday before contracting eastwards
through the Interior on Wednesday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge lies over the southeast of the State. A surface trough lies near the
west coast and will deepen whilst moving east during Tuesday and Wednesday. A
new ridge will develop to the south of the State on Wednesday and Thursday in
the wake of the trough. Another trough will develop off the west coast by
Thursday evening and move inland from the west coast later on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 15 September
Chance of showers or thunderstorms over eastern parts of the South West Land
Division, the Goldfields, far southeast Gascoyne and the western Eucla.
Possible afternoon showers over the northern Kimberley. Possible showers over
coastal areas between Augusta and Albany.
Forecast for Wednesday 16 September
Showers over southern parts of the South West Land Division, Eucla and the
southern Goldfields with a chance of a morning thunderstorm over the western
Eucla, South Interior and western South East Coastal.
Forecast for Thursday 17 September
Showers over the South Coastal and South East Coastal, Eucla, southeastern
Interior and the adjacent Goldfields. A chance of a thunderstorm over the
southeast Interior and the eastern Eucla.
Forecast for Friday 18 September
Showers over the Eucla and southern South Interior. Evening showers over the
South West coastal areas.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Tuesday.
