Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough extends from the western Kimberley through to near the Pilbara
coast and to central parts of the State. Hot conditions continuing.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cold front will weaken near the south coast on Saturday as a ridge builds
over the southwest. The ridge will develop along the south coast on Sunday with
a high pressure system moving into the Bight. A surface trough near the west
coast will move inland during Monday as a strong cold front approaches the
southwest. The front will move across southern parts of the State on Tuesday,
with a pool of cold air following in its wake.

Forecast for the rest of Saturday 29 August
Showers near the south coast, with thunderstorms and small hail possible near
the western south coast in the morning. Early showers possible near the Lower
West coast, with light falls. Thunderstorms and areas of raised dust also
possible over southeastern parts of the State in the afternoon and evening.

Forecast for Sunday 30 August
Clear conditions over most parts.

Forecast for Monday 31 August
Showers developing southwest of a line from Geraldton to Hopetoun.

Forecast for Tuesday 1 September
Showers extending through the South West Land Division, southern Gascoyne, the
Goldfields and the Eucla. Thunderstorms and small hail possible south of a line
from Perth to Israelite Bay. Areas of raised dust possible over the South
Interior.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Saturday.
