Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure is developing over the Gascoyne. The ridge will drift
slowly south during Tuesday and Wednesday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A deep low pressure system lies well south of the State with a ridge developing
over the Gascoyne. The gusty southwesterly flow over southern districts will
ease during Tuesday as the high pressure ridge becomes establishes over central
parts of the State. A weak cold front will reach the South West district during
Friday.
Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 18 August
Showers about the South West Land Division and the southern Gascoyne coast,
contracting to near southern coastal parts in the evening. Mainly light falls.
Gusty winds about the Esperance coast.
Forecast for Wednesday 19 August
Showers near the south and west coast, contracting to the south coast in the
afternoon. Possible morning frost in southern parts of the Central Wheat Belt
and adjacent Great Southern districts.
Forecast for Thursday 20 August
Light morning showers near the south coast. Possible morning frost in the
Central Wheat Belt and the Great Southern districts.
Forecast for Friday 21 August
Showers developing southwest of a line Mandurah to Albany during the afternoon
and evening, with thunderstorms possible near the SW Capes.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Tuesday.
