Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A large high pressure system in the Bight extends a ridge across WA. The high
will move slowly eastwards over the coming days allowing a low pressure trough
to develop near the Pilbara during Wednesday, then weakening as another high
establishes over southern WA later Thursday and Friday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure system lies over the Bight and will move slowly eastwards over
the coming days. A trough lies near the Southwest Capes ahead of a cold front
that will approach the southwest corner of the State on Wednesday afternoon.
The front will then move across southwest WA Wednesday evening, reaching Bight
waters Thursday afternoon. A ridge of high pressure will develop in the wake of
the front over southern WA. A high pressure system will then move slowly
eastwards across southern WA on Friday.

Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 22 July
Showers near the SW Capes, extending through areas southwest of a line from
Perth to Albany during the afternoon and evening.

Forecast for Thursday 23 July
Showers over southern parts of the South West Land Division and far southern
Goldfields, with thunderstorms possible near the south coast. Morning showers
over western parts of the South West Land Division. Possible morning fog about
inland parts of the Central West and adjacent Gascoyne.

Forecast for Friday 24 July
Light morning showers near the Eucla coast. Morning frost patches through
central inland parts of the South West Land Division.

Forecast for Saturday 25 July
Showers developing about southwestern parts of the South West Land Division,
extending to southwest of Jurien Bay to Bremer Bay in the afternoon and
evening. Frost patches through the eastern Goldfields, Eucla and adjacent
Interior.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Wednesday.
