Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure lies over central parts of the State. A fresh east to
southeasterly flow over northern districts, easing late Sunday and during
Monday as a trough approaches the Pilbara coast from the west.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure lies over central parts of the State and a low
pressure trough off the west coast. A low pressure system will develop off the
South West Capes during Sunday with a cold front set to cross the west coast
later in the day. The cold front will move through the South West Land Division
on Monday as the low pressure system moves south of the State. A new ridge of
high pressure will build across the Mid West coast and a weak cold front will
brush the south west corner of the State on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of Sunday 5 July
Showers and thunderstorms about the South West Capes, extending to reach areas
west of line Geraldton to Northam to Albany by late evening. Moderate to heavy
falls possible over the South West district.
Forecast for Monday 6 July
A period of showers and possible thunderstorms extending through eastern parts
of the South West Land Division, Gascoyne and Goldfields, reaching the western
Eucla by evening. Showers and thunderstorms over western parts of the South
West Land Division with moderate to heavy falls possible in the far southwest.
Forecast for Tuesday 7 July
Showers over western and southern parts of the South West Land Division, and
clearing from the southeastern Goldfields and Eucla during the morning.
Forecast for Wednesday 8 July
Showers over southern and western parts of the South West Land Division,
contracting to the south coast during the day.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Sunday.
