Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A trough and associated cloud band lies over the Kimberley, where it will before weakening during today. A ridge over central parts of the state weakens before a trough moves east through the Pilbara and Kimberley on today and Saturday. A new ridge develops through central and southern parts of the state on Saturday and Sunday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A weakening ridge lies over central parts of the state. A moderate to strong cold front moves across the South West Land Division and adjacent parts during today. A new ridge will develop over central parts during Saturday in the wake of the front and drift further south on Sunday and Monday.
Forecast for the rest of Friday 29 May
Showers and possible thunderstorms moving through the South West Land Division during the day, reaching adjacent parts of the Goldfields and Gascoyne later in the day. Moderate falls in the west grading to light falls in the northeast. Possible thunderstorms southwest of a line from Jurien Bay to Israelite Bay. Showers or patchy light rain possible over the Interior, east Pilbara and and west Kimberley.
Forecast for Saturday 30 May
Early showers clearing from the southeast Gascoyne, the southern Goldfields and the Eucla. Showers or patchy light rain possible over the Interior and west Kimberley, clearing during the day. Early showers over the South West Land Division contracting to near coastal parts around sunrise. Early thunderstorms possible near the Esperance coast.
Forecast for Sunday 31 May
Showers southwest of a line from Geraldton to Katanning to Israelite Bay and near the Eucla coast. Light falls anticipated.
Forecast for Monday 1 June
Early showers possible near the south coast. Possible light rain over the far western Pilbara and adjacent NW Gascoyne.
