Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A ridge lies over central parts of the state for the next couple of days, with
easterly winds easing with afternoon sea breezes near the coast. The ridge will
strengthen over southern parts of the State during weekend producing fresh and
gusty easterly winds in northern parts during the morning.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A weak cold front will brush the south coast late Thursday and early Friday. A
ridge of high pressure will develop along the south coast late Friday and
Saturday with a high moving into the Bight on Sunday. A trough will begin to
develop near the west coast later Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 7 May
Showers about southern parts of the South West Land Division extending along
the west coast and adjacent areas south of Geraldton during the afternoon and
evening. Dangerous surf conditions over southern coastal waters, easing during
the afternoon.
Forecast for Friday 8 May
Showers over the South West Land Division, southern Eucla and the southern
Goldfields with mainly light falls expected through inland parts.
Forecast for Saturday 9 May
Showers possible along the south coast.
Forecast for Sunday 10 May
Showers possible along the south coast west of Walpole.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm WST Thursday.
