Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad low pressure trough extends through the Kimberley and Pilbara and into
the North Interior. The trough will move very little over the coming days.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure system lies southeast of the State and broad trough lies inland
of the west coast. The trough will move further inland tonight and on Friday. A
weak cold front will brush the southwest of the State late Friday and Saturday
before a new ridge develops over the south of the State on Sunday and Monday.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 26 March
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northwest Interior, Gascoyne and
western parts of the South West Land Division.
Forecast for Friday 27 March
Showers and thunderstorms about coastal parts of the Kimberley. Possible
showers and thunderstorms over the western Goldfields and adjacent Central
Wheat Belt. Slight risk of a shower of thunderstorm over South West, South
Coastal and South East Coastal. Showers developing late evening southwest of
Mandurah to Walpole.
Forecast for Saturday 28 March
Showers southwest of a line Jurien Bay to Corrigin to Bremer Bay, light falls
anticipated. The chance of thunderstorms over the northwest Kimberley coast.
Forecast for Sunday 29 March
The chance of thunderstorms over the northwest Kimberley coast. Light showers
along the south coast between Cape Leeuwin and Albany.
Forecast for Monday 30 March
The chance of thunderstorms over the northwest Kimberley coast. Light showers
along the south coast between Cape Naturaliste and Albany. Possible showers and
thunderstorms over the southwest South Interior, Goldfields and adjacent
Gascoyne and Central Wheat Belt.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Friday.
