Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A generally westerly flow persists over northern parts of the State. A surface
trough will develop through the Pilbara and Northern Interior and then persist
into the weekend.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A high pressure ridge lies south of the State and a surface trough is
developing near the west coast. The trough will gradually deepen the next
couple of days before moving eastwards on Saturday. A weak cold front will
brush the southwest corner on Sunday and then a new ridge will build in its
wake.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday 12 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, eastern inland Pilbara, Interior,
eastern Gascoyne, and the adjacent Central West district. Areas of rain about
the eastern parts of the South East Coastal district and the adjacent western
Eucla, clearing during in the evening. Showers and thunderstorms over
southwestern parts of the Southwest Land Division.
Forecast for Thursday 13 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, inland Gascoyne, and the
Interior. Showers and thunderstorms possible over western and central parts of
the South West Land Division. Chance of a morning shower in the eastern parts
of the South East Coastal district and the adjacent Eucla.
Forecast for Friday 14 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, inland Pilbara, central Gascoyne
and the northern Interior. Showers and thunderstorms possible over central and
western parts of the South West Land Division.
Forecast for Saturday 15 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, inland Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne,
northern Interior, Goldfields and central and eastern parts of the South West
Land Division.
Forecast for Sunday 16 February
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, inland Pilbara, far eastern
Gascoyne, northern and western Interior, Goldfields. Showers about the southern
parts of the South West Land Division, and the chance of a thunderstorm in the
east of the South East Coastal district.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Thursday.
