Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad trough extends from the inland of the Pilbara to the North Interior
which will persist over the coming days. A fresh westerly flow over the
northern Kimberley will ease from Wednesday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure is building across the south of the State in the wake
of a weakening cold front and deep trough which contract east into South
Australia tonight. The ridge will continue to build across the south on
Wednesday and Thursday before eventually moving south of the State on Friday. A
broad trough forms inland from the west coast on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of Tuesday 21 January
Rain and thunderstorms about the north Kimberley, with some heavy falls
possible. Showers and thunderstorms over the remainder of the Kimberley,
central and eastern Pilbara and northeastern parts of the Interior. Light
showers about the south coast.
Forecast for Wednesday 22 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northeast Pilbara and northeast
Interior. Showers about the south coast and adjacent inland areas.
Forecast for Thursday 23 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, northeast Pilbara and North
Interior. Light showers about the south coast and adjacent inland areas,
clearing during the morning.
Forecast for Friday 24 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, inland Pilbara and North Interior.
Forecast for Saturday 25 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, inland Pilbara and North Interior.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Wednesday.
