Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad low pressure trough lies inland from the Pilbara coast, and will move offshore over the weekend. A tropical low is forming over waters to the north of the Kimberley and during Monday it is likely to develop into a tropical cyclone as it moves towards the the west Kimberley or eastern Pilbara coast. Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A lies in the Bight. A trough will develop near the west coast during Sunday and will move east into the eastern parts of the South West Land Division on Monday and Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of Saturday 4 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, central and eastern Pilbara, North Interior and the northeast Gascoyne. Areas of rain with the chance of a thunderstorm over the South Interior.
Forecast for Sunday 5 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara and the Interior. Heavy falls possible about the northwest Kimberley coast.
Forecast for Monday 6 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northern Gascoyne and the North Interior. Heavy falls possible about the northwest Kimberley coast.
Forecast for Tuesday 7 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, northern Gascoyne and the North Interior. Moderate to heavy falls possible about the west Kimberley coast and over and the eastern Pilbara.
Forecast for Wednesday 8 January
Showers and thunderstorms over the Kimberley, Pilbara, Gascoyne, Interior, Eucla and Goldfields as well as northern and eastern parts of the South West Land Division. Moderate to heavy falls possible over the Pilbara and northeast Gascoyne.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Sunday.
