Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A broad surface trough extends from the western Pilbara through to the Kimberley coast. The trough will move east towards the North Interior during the remainder of Tuesday and Wednesday. A strengthening ridge of high pressure will push over the north Interior and inland Pilbara realigning the surface trough along the Kimberley and Pilbara coasts on Friday.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure lies across the far south of the State, with a trough extending through the Goldfields and southeast coast which will continue to push east today and on Wednesday. A cold front will move across southwestern parts of the State during Wednesday afternoon and overnight into Thursday morning followed by a pool of unstable cold air. A new ridge of high pressure develops over the south of the State during Thursday and Friday in the wake of the front.

Forecast for Wednesday 18 September
Showers developing southwest of a line from Lancelin to Albany, increasing in the afternoon before extending through remaining areas southwest of a line from Geraldton to Esperance during the late afternoon and evening.
Forecast for Thursday 19 September
A cold day in the south with showers through the South West Land Division and southwestern Goldfields contracting to the Lower West and southern coastal districts by midday. Possible small hail near the south coast. The chance of light snow on the peaks of the Stirling Ranges in the morning.
Forecast for Friday 20 September
Widespread morning frost through inland parts of the South West Land Division and adjacent southwest Goldfields. Showers about southern coastal districts and the Eucla coast.
Forecast for Saturday 21 September
Widespread morning frost through central parts of the Wheat Belt and Great Southern, the adjacent southern Goldfields and Eucla. Showers about southern coastal districts and the Eucla coast.
