Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A cloud band that extends from the central Pilbara to the Interior will contract east and clear during Friday. A ridge of high pressure will build over central parts of the State from Saturday resulting in a generally east to southeasterly flow across the north over the weekend. A high pressure system becomes established over the south of the State on Monday, and will cause the east southeasterly flow to freshen further.
Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A strong cold front will cross southwestern parts of the State during Friday afternoon and evening, then contract away into the Bight during Saturday morning. A pool of very cold and unstable air will move across southern parts in the wake of the front late Friday and during Saturday. A high pressure system will develop over southern parts of the State from Sunday, and will become established there early next week.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday 15 August
Showers possible over the eastern Goldfields and the Eucla, and also near the western south coast.
A band of rain extends from the central Pilbara and down through the Interior, with thunderstorms also possible within the band.
Forecast for Friday 16 August
Showers developing southwest of a line from Jurien Bay to Albany during the morning, increasing in the afternoon and extending through areas southwest of a line from Kalbarri to Southern Cross to Esperance during the afternoon and evening. Thunderstorms, gusty winds and small hail possible southwest of a line from Jurien Bay to Bremer Bay, mostly in the afternoon and evening. Widespread areas of morning frost over northern and eastern parts of the Southwest Land Division, and the adjacent Gascoyne, Goldfields and Eucla. Areas of rain over the Interior, clearing during the day.
Forecast for Saturday 17 August
Showers southwest of a line Carnarvon to Eyre, contracting to southern parts of the state and the west coast south of Jurien Bay during the morning. Hail and possible thunderstorms over southern parts, gradually easing from the west during the day. Possible snow on the Stirling Ranges, most likely during the morning.
Forecast for Sunday 18 August
Showers near the southern and Eucla coasts. Widespread areas of morning frost over southern inland parts of the State.

Showers possible near the southern and Eucla coasts. Widespread areas of morning frost over southern inland parts of the State.
