Weather Situation – Northern Western Australia
A ridge of high pressure through central WA will gradually weaken over the coming days as a high pressure cell over the southeast of the continent moves east. A broad trough over the Kimberley and Pilbara will shift east on Tuesday, and a new ridge of high pressure moves in from the west over southern WA on Wednesday and Thursday.

Weather Situation – Southern and Central Western Australia
A cold front will slide through southern and central parts of the South West Land Division tonight and on Tuesday morning, with a high pressure ridge developing in its wake on Tuesday. A weak, secondary front moves over southern parts of the South West Land Division during Tuesday evening into early Wednesday before the ridge re-establishes and builds over southern WA.

Forecast for the rest of Monday 5 August
Showers through the South West Land Division and the adjacent Gascoyne and Goldfields. Isolated thunderstorms southwest of a line from Jurien Bay to Israelite Bay. Thunderstorms also possible over the eastern Goldfields and the Eucla.

Forecast for Tuesday 6 August
Showers through the South West Land Division, southern Gascoyne, central and southern Goldfields and the Eucla, tending to rain areas about the south coast in the morning. Thunderstorms through eastern parts of the South West Land Division, the southern and central Goldfields, the Eucla and far southern Interior. Early thunderstorms possible along the west coast between Geraldton and Perth.

Forecast for Wednesday 7 August
Showers through southern parts of the the South West Land Division and along the west coast south of Geraldton, contracting to the south coast in the evening. Showers over the Eucla and southern Interior, contracting to the coast by the evening.

Forecast for Thursday 8 August
Widespread frost through northeastern parts of the South West Land Division, Goldfields and southern parts of the South Interior. Showers about the south coast and Eucla coast, extending into the Lower West and adjacent parts of the Great Southern during the day.

Forecast for Friday 9 August
Showers over southern parts of the South West Land Division, the southern Goldfields and the Eucla.

The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:45 am WST Tuesday.
